Exceptional Learners Class

Daytona Beach Christian Academy is proud to be able to offer a class for Exceptional Learners. who have a specific diagnosis of high functioning autism and/or related unique abilities. Students will have access to our sensory room. This special education class will be for Kindergarten to 5th grade with an emphasis on academic skills and social skills training. Curriculum is specially modified to meet each child's individual needs. The ratio is 1:10 in our Exceptional Learners' class. Each child's individual education plan is reviewed throughout the year with parents to monitor progress and ensure goal effectiveness. Our goal is to give your child a safe and loving environment to learn academically and develop social skills.

Daily Bible Class and Weekly Chapel

Bible time is a very important part of the day. We help our students learn all they can about Jesus and God’s Word. Our students will love learning about individuals in the Bible such as David, Daniel, Jonah, and Zacchaeus, as well as important holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Through memorizing Bible verses, they will have God’s Word to help them daily as they learn about creation, God’s promises, obedience, prayer, God’s protection, salvation, miracles, and Heaven.

Adaptive Experiences

Students in our Exceptional Learners Class will participate in activities that are appropriate for the child's adaptive experience, including but not limited to recess, chapel, special area classes (art, P.E., American Sign Language, music), field trips, Dr. Seuss Celebration, classroom parties, field day, and the Christmas program.
